Palladium offers assay development services as a means for a company to rapidly enter into the lateral flow test market or to expand its range of products with minimum investment in time and money.

Development services come in several levels, ranging from short feasibility studies up to full scale development and all the way to commercial manufacturing level.

Development is performed at our Research Laboratory in San Diego, California. Our scientific staff includes senior level scientists with over 50 years’ combined experience in the development of lateral flow, flow through and dry chemistry assays.

Typical Assay Development Program

Quick Feasibility level 1: Includes a detailed report, SOP’s where appropriate, and up to 100 working prototypes for evaluation. Typically 2-4 weeks.
Full Feasibility level 2: Includes a detailed report, SOP’s where appropriate, and up to 500 fully functional prototypes for evaluation. Typically 2-6 months.
Full Product Development: A fully developed, validated & manufacturable product, completely documented and transferred to production.

Lateral Flow

Our staff is uniquely experienced in developing lateral flow assays around a variety of conjugate labels and reporting requirements, including:

Vertical Flow (Flow Through)

Palladium specializes in Vertical Flow or Flow Through assay design and development. Flow through assays differ from lateral flow assays in a few key elements:

Greater sample volume capacity for increased sensitivity

(0.1mL to 10mL)

Faster run time (10-30 seconds time to result)
Mitigates sample matrix effects from blood, saliva, urine, etc.
